CPCC Coaching Staff

Carleton Place Canoe Club's coaches are dynamic instructors with paddling experience in both canoes and kayaks.  They are respected leaders within their element of specialty and work full time in the summer at CPCC.  They will help to look after each members individual needs to successfully achieve his or her personal goals.  The Club is extremly fortunate to have the highly successful and respected Ryan Blair as the Club's full-time Head Coach.

 

Head Coach – Ryan Blair

Ryan has been involved in the sport of Canoe/Kayak since 1991. In 2000, Ryan retired as an athlete to start his coaching career at the Mississauga Canoe Club (Mississauga, ON). From 2001-2008, Ryan returned to his original club, the West Rouge Canoe Club (Scarborough, ON) as its Head Coach. In 2009, Ryan took on his current role as Head Coach of the Carleton Place Canoe Club (Carleton Place, ON). Ryan has coached multiple athletes who competed at Provincial, National and International Championships.

Ryan’s coaching credentials also include: Ontario Canoe/Kayak Team Manager at the 2001 Canada Summer Games, Canoe/Kayak coordinator at the 2002 Ontario Summer Games, Assistant Provincial Coach at OCSRA’s Spring Training Camp in 2001-2005, 2009 - present, 2009 - 2011 CKC Coach Recognition Award recipient, 2011 CKC Club Coach Development Award recipient, as well as a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) CanoeKids and ELCC course facilitator. “I am very fortunate to be a part of the rich history of the Canoe Club and the community of Carleton Place and look forward to its continued successes on and off the water.”
